This is' a work in which every Commoner reader may par ticipate. The Commoner will be sent weekly from now until tho next presidential election to all who will sign and return to The Commoner office a certificate of membership in The Com moner army accompanied by GO cents to cover the cost of sending the paper. A prompt re sponse to this call will be an assurance that you approve of The Commoner's effort to bring suc cess to democratic arms. Cut out, sign and return tho certificate printed oh this page for your own membership. Or if you do not care to mutilate your copy of Tho Commoner send in. a request asking for a number of blank certificates and they will bo forwarded to you, thus enabling you to give your acquaintances an opportunity to join in the work of building up the "army of a million plan" and enabling them also to secure The Commoner from now until November 1908 for only sixty cents. Thomas N. Bon Durant, Montgomery City, Mo. Having served two campaigns from the firing of the first political gun to the last great battle of ballots in November, 18 9 G, though doomed to defeat I have never surrendered, but stood in the last ditch and waved the glorious banner of democracy in the face of an exultant foe. I wish to enlist again in this great army of patriots and do what I can to advance the cause of human rights justice to all and special privileges to none. Enclosed find certificate and GO cents for The Commoner. F. R. Fencil, New Cumberland, Pa. I en close $1.20 for two subscriptions for The Com moner, also certificates. I expect to use some of my leisure tlmq, in adding some names to the million army. 1 believe The Commoner is doing a splendid work in the interest of the common people and should be read by every voter. Please send me fifteen membership certificates, as I will need them in my work. I hope that our labors may be rewarded next year by a democratic victory. C. V. VanWinkle, Pinckney, Mich. Please send me a few one million membership certifi cates. I, want to do a little for the million army plan. My subscription has not yet expired; that will be attended to later. I have never missed a single copy of The Commoner; my first sub scription commenced with the first issue. Thomas Connell,.Monongah, W. Va. You will- find enclosed $2.60 for subscriptions to The Commoner. Send me a few certificates,- and sample copies. W. F. Shields, Wabash, Ind. I enclose $1.80 and three membership -cards to The Com moner. Please send more of the cards and I will-try to get more recruits for the army. Dr. D. H. Patton, Woodward, Okla. I send ;woui three certificates with $1.80 for subscrip tions to The Commoner. You may send me twenty-five more and I think I can place thorn in the hands of those who will use them. Dem ocrats of Oklahoma will be -very aggressive in 1908. I do not know whether this is original or not, but it sounded good to me. Here it is: A lady here at one of their clubs which was 'strictly forbidden to discuss political questions first delighted and then shocked its republican members by announcing that the president was entitled to the credit of destroying one trust. 'When asked to explain she said, "In God We Trust," after which silence .reigned A. Sumerlin, Mattoon, 111. We assure you that we are heartily in sympathy with your efforts in this direction and as soon as practi cable we will undertake to organize the demo cratic club in Mattoon. Jacob H. Van Nuys, Colon, Mich. As I have been a constant reader of your paper ever since the first issue, and I see that my time has expired, I certainly must renew it as it is the true light in our household. It advocates my principles exactly and I have voted for Mr Bryan twice and will again if I ever have the chance to do so. More than' that, if you will send me twelve of your one million member ship certificates I will try and enlist some for the army for which we will make a great stand for the rights of the people. By the way, how .many of The Commoners come to my postoffice? If I knew and knew their names I would know better who to get to help me with the ivork. F. L. Tate, Vermillion, Kan. Find en closed order for two more subscribers. I would suggest that every subscriber to The Commoner make an effort and send in at least one or more new subscribers and in that way we can soon muster our army of one million, but don't under stand me that we will be satisfied with that; we want just as many more as it is possible to get. C. A. Lonsinger, Warsaw, Ohio Please find enclosed money order for $1.80 and three membership certificates; one is for Eugene Laughlin, Warsaw, Ohio, a new subscriber; the second one is for H. C. Clark, Warsaw, Ohio, a renewal, and the third one is for C. A. Lon singer, Warsaw, Ohio. Please add one year's subscription from April 30, 1908 to his sub scription.
