vention, and by a vote' of 1,038 to 570

the committee. Mr. Kern announced
that the sub-committee of the. resolu

anti-SuIHvan resolution submitted by
the majority rule league. "This res
olution wag voted down by a majority
of the sub-committee, and by a ma
jority of the resolutions committee,"

however.' to have this resolution of

tion by one of its friends who has
been active in promoting it; Forty
five minutes' will be granted to each
side for" debate." Judge Thompson
took the floor in advocacy of. the reso
lution and'in tlie midst of great dis
order made a speech in favor, of its
adoption. Above the babel of noise,
Mr. Sullivan mounted a cliair in- the
midst of his followers and said: "I
desire- that my friends' remain in sU
lence until Judge Thompson has fin

tions. The roll call then proceeded.
When Cook county was reached the
vote was announced as 500 for tabl
ing the resblution and 35 against. A
demand' was made that the Cook coun
ty vote be polled by wards and pre
cincts. This, however, was denied.
The result of the vote to table was
1.038 for and 570 against, and by this
