It Is reported that a woman hy the name of Mrs. Preston, a native of Dum fries, Scotland, hut now living at Red lands, Calif., declaros that the gravo of John Paul Jones is not in Paris, as has heen thought, hut is at Dumfries. Mrs. Preston wrote Ambassador Por ter, who has been making a fruitless search in Paris for the remains, to tell him where the grave of Jones is. She says that the gravo Is marked with a stono bearing the inscription "John Paul Jones, the Black Pirate." Brady, the governor of Alaska. Although this request was forwarded by Secretary Hitchcock under orders from the pres ident over a month ago, no reply was received.
