Negro graduate students are being
admitted to predominantly all
white state-supported schools in
Virginia provided the courses de
sired are not available at Virginia
State college for Negroes.

The Mary Bethune Literary and
Art club met Sunday afternoon,
October 26th, at the home of Mrs.
Bessie Ambers. Plans for the an
nual tea were completed and club
activities in the near future were
discussed. The club was closed
and the entire membership at
tended the La Foll’ets Tea, which
was held at Carver Home. After!
touring the home each member
schools are concentrated in the
Richmond area.
The Richmond Professional In
stitute here, a division of the Col
lege of William and Mary, has
seven Negro college graduates en
rolled in its School of Social Work
this year, the third year that such
students have been accepted, ac
cording to Dr. Harry H. Hibbs,
dean of the school. In addition,
Dr. Hibbs added, there are about
35 adult colored students enrolled
in specialized night courses,:
offered at the institute which
would not otherwise be available
to colored people.
