Links Win Over
Omaha S 34-6;
Last Home Game
There was no rain but plenty
of lightning at the Oval Friday
i night. It struck swiftly and fre
quently as Lincoln High un
leashed a devastating drive that
swamped Omaha South, 34-6.
Chief purveyor of the flashing
attack was Ted King while Dick
I McWilliams provided the thun
iderclaps with his vicious line
bucking.
South was never in the grme.
The Links scored twice in the first
quarter, repeated the feat in the
second stanza and picked up their
firtal tally in the third period.
South tallied in the final frame.
King opened the scoring with a
dazzling 51-yard gallop that came
one play after Don Erway inter
cepted a Packer pass. Bob Bar
nett tossed a crunching block on
the 10 to assure King’s score.
Again it was King who electri
fied the stands with another LHS
score. He flinched a Packer pass
on the Lincoln 48 and rambled
over untouched by the befuddled
opposition. McWilliams plunged
for the 14th point.
Lincoln seniors who played their
last home game included Erway, I
Barnett, Stoneman, Jerry Gilbert,
Jack Leikam, King, Sam Ellis,
Dick Skold, Russ Nielsen, Eldean
Wiltfang, Don Johnson, Larry
Kimmel, Bill Greiner, McWilliams,
Butherus, Gary Jorgensen, Bob
Ford and Sam Zelen.
