THE CHRISTIAN’S RESPONSI
BILITY IN PUBLIC LIFE
Scripture: Matthew .5:12-16;
13:33; Acts 5:25-29; 1 Peter 3:13-18
Memory Selection: We ought to
obey God rather than men. Acts
5:29.
PRESENT DAY APPLICATION
By Frederick D. Jordan
Los Angeles, Calif.
The, Christian should make him
self felt in the community. Much
wickedness in high places, many
unjust laws, etc., can be directly
,traced to the Christians of the
; community, who refuse to take
part in public life. The Christian
| should seek to preserve the best
in government, he should be as a
light in Calling attention to Chris
tian ideals in government. The
Christian should be like leaven
in the community, maintaining
ideals, hopes, motives, spirit, love,
and faith as citizens of the heav
enly realm. And Christians must
do this, not only to save their
jown souls, but to leaven, to per
meate the whole of society with
the purpose and spirit of Christ.
War, economic, pressure and po
litical intrigue are wreaking havoc
■ in the world today. It is the busi
ness of Christians to see that our
■great institutions of democracy,
(freedom, and truth are not swept
away.
