Dean had as their dinner guests Monday evening, for a family dinner, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bar nett, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Malone and Jeanne, Mr. and Mrs. George Randol, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Young and Mr. Horace Colley. * * * Wednesday May 31st, Mrs. Clayton Lewis and Mrs. James Dean were hostesses to 75 ladies at an open house from 2-4 o’clock, in honor of Mrs. Harry Barnett. Mrs. Barnett is the aunt of Mrs. Lewis and the niece of Mr. Dean. Refreshments, punch, cookies and candy were served. The open house was held at the home of Mrs. Dean. * * * Little Miss Vivian Walker left last week to spend her summer vacation in St. Louis, Mo., with relatives and friends. * * * Persons from Lincoln attending the Layman’s Convention in Kan sas City, Kansas, June 2 through 4th, were Charles Goolsby, dele gate from Quinn Chapel AME church, Rev. J. B. Brook and Rev. Melvin L. Shakespeare. WEDS IN CHURCH CEREMONY The wedding of Miss Frances Jean Burns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Burns to Forrest Frank King, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry King was solemnized at the Church of Christ Holiness June 3rd. Rev. Trago McWilliams, jr., performed the 3:00 o’clock cere mony in the presents of the bride and grooms families and a few friends. The bride wore a beige suit "with brown and white accessories and a corsage of roses. Immediately following the cere mony a reception was held at the home of the bride. The couple is planning a honeymoon trip to Denver, Colo., they will be leav ing June 16th. * * * The Urban League Vacation Church school now in progress at the Urban League is sponsored by the Lincoln Council of Christian Education under the direction of Miss Marie Schwabauer of the German Evangelical church. The school started June 5th and will continue through the 16th. The children arrive at 9:30 and finish a days session at 11:00 a. m. Mrs. Irby Stephens is promoter of the school.
