Scripture—Micah 4:1-5, 5:2-4; 7:18-20. Memory Selection—Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity,... .he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he de ligheth in mercy. Micah 7:18. Micah’s vision of World'Peace. Micah had come very close to the heart of God in his yearning over Judah, and he learned that God’s plan for his people was almost too great to be comprehended. His vision of peace is one of the great tasks which is still before the na tions of the world. Micah did not outline an elaborate organization of the nations. He knew that or ganization would be a necessity for a peaceful world. But there must be underneath all organiza tion the foundation of a common faith. Without that the best de signed organization will be only a paper scheme, lifeless and power less.- Fear of war is not a firm foundation, nor for that matter, is love of peace. There must be a law above all national ambitions and all selfish desires. To the prophet there was no adequate source of such a law but God. Can we learn this lesson for our day? Or are we doomed to wander in the wilderness on to destruc tion in the futile attempt to build a world order while still clinging to the idea that we can have America first, or another other nation first, with the world always second. Can we find a Power to whom all nations are willing to bow the knee? Micah's vision of world peace seems to have hung on the horizon like an alluring light in the dark days of war. See Isaiah 2:1-4, where the same message in almost the same words is given. What a light it has been down through the ages! It has been like a mirage which has lured us on, and yet we believe and know that it is in deed real and that some day it will be true. Micah wished to see his nation strong and incincible, but he wanted above all to see it righteous and God-fearing. So would we like to see our nation. In the words of Bishop Oldham we would like to see America first. Present-Day Application By Frederick D. Jordan Los Angeles, Calif. God has a plan for us. A part of that plan is a world of peace, se curity and brotherhood for all mankind. We are a part of that plan and must co-operate and do all that we can to help. Christ commanded, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.” It is a part of His plan that Christians should be active in seeing that all men know' the Gospel that they might be guided by it in all their dealings. Do you look for the smallest coin you have when the Missionary offering plate is passed? How do you answ'er the appeal made for Missions in your church? All of this ties in with your part of God’s plan. It is a part of His plan that His church and the Christians who compose it should live up to the standards proclaimed by Christ, and that they do their part to rectify the injustices and disorders of society; God’s purposes con cerning the world may be delayed and thwarted by you—by your failure as a professed Christian. Do not let this happen. Card of Thanks I wish to thank all those whc helped us to have a good report for conference. May God’s rich est blessing be yours. REV. W. A. GREENE. I go to church for spiritual in spiration and guidance, and for the belief I have in the Holy Bible. Fred Nevels, sr. I go to church because it helps me face the rest of the week happier and gives me peace of mind after I attend. Mrs. June Campbell. I go to church because it is the house of the Lord and it is where I get my spiritual food. Where the Shepherd feeds and assem ble myself with the Saints of God. Mrs. Harry Adams. I go to church to get the spir itual teachings I need to make me a better Christian from day to day, to live with my fellowmen and to learn to get along with all mankind. Going to church on Sunday, tends to make my whole week more successful, but when I miss going, it seems my days are all wrong for the week. It teaches me the love of Christ, his sacrifice of His life, that we, as Christians should try each and every day to live in a way the Master can use us. Raymond Botts. I go to church because I love the Lord, and His house should be a house of prayer for all na tions. It refreshes my spirit and I learn more aT>out God’s word. I find rest, peace and joy in the church that I can not find else where. Mrs. H. C. King. June 1, 1930, I became to know the Lord as my personal Savior, being sanctified through the blood of Jesus and then receiving the Holy Ghost according to Acts 1:8. One day I made a vow to the Lord. In order to keep that vow, I must be obedient to the word of God, that I might be able to live a life that is pleasing to Him and that will be an example to others. Therefore, I go to church to worship God in spirit and in truth as stated in St. John 4:24. Hebrews 10:25 reads as follows: “We must not forsake the assem bling of ourselves together.” Mrs. Frank Williams, sr. I go to church for the inspira tional uplifting it gives to my heart and soul, because, it is the House of Our Lord, and Savior, who triumphant over death and the grave and His infinite Spirit liveth forever in His Holy Temple which is the church.
