Memory Selection—Let justice roll down as waters, and right eousness as a mighty stream. Amos 5:24 RV. Present Day Application By Frederick D. Jordan Los Angeles, Calif. Worship which is pleasing to God must be in spirit and in truth. Amos urged the people to worship God in sincerity. This message is needed for us too. We need to square our conduct with our worship. It is easy for our religious services to mean noth ing to us when we are living un worthy lives. Even excellent, well-planned church services be come a formal routine if our hearts are not right. Have you ever'heard one say, “I certainly do not see what Mrs. Jones found to get so happy about in service this morning.” Going through a form of worship is not sufficient, nor does it carry a reward. The condition of our lives determines the joy we receive when we worship. Amos had plenty to say about evil lives, so can much be said today. Let us remember that he was talking about those who worshipped, about those in the church itself. Contractor Docs Million Dollar Business CHICAGO. (ANP). Cinderella man of the construction business is Harold Coleman, 38-year-old one-legged builder from St. Louis, who May Ebony magazine says never went above the 8th grade in school but will gross more than $1,000,000 in the con struction business this year. “Coleman learned to build buildings by tearing them down,” Ebony says. “For five years he demolished buildings in St. Louis in order to get scrap lumber for his kindling business. Taking buildings down piece by piece, he learned how they were put up.” Coleman was shocked by the bad work in the structures he wrecked, according to the story. He decided to offer to do good work at reasonable rates. “In five short years, this Tennessee-b o r n ex-dishwasher, pyramided a $3,000,000 investment into the Prosperity Construction | company which now holds options and contracts totaling over $3 I million for the next thrfce years,” j the story continues. ‘‘Coleman % grossed $900,000 last year with a profit of $65,000 and will gross more than $1 million in 1950.” WATCHES!
