Hi Teens:
Most «f the teens were in
Christmas spirit over the week
end and we nil had a lovely
time. Some of their activities
were going to the church basket
ball game at Irving high. Quinn
Chapel played and won. Grand
going fellas. . . Bcttio Rose Huston
held her 17th birthday party Dee
25th and she received many lovely
gifts. The guests reported having
a wonderful time.
Tuesday night the Young Men’s
club gave a party at the Urban
League and everyone seemed to
be having a real crazy time. All
of us thought that there should
be more of them in the near fu
ture.

Bertram Cooke celebrate his birth
day, Dec. 29 at his home were
Janice McCall, La Verne Farmer,
Cleveland Marshall, Donald Page
and Estrelda Horton. We all
wished him a happy birthday.

a starter
Ham-and-EgR Pie.
(New fashion for an old favorite)
6 tablespoon* chopped celery
6 tablespoon* chopped onion
4 tablespoons butter o- margarine
% cup flour
3 cups milk
IS teaspoons salt
3 hard-cooked eggs
3 cups cubed, cooked ham
Tomato biscuit dough
Brown celery and onion in
butter. Blend in flour. Add milk
gradually and stir until thick.
Add salt. Add eggs, cut in quar
ters, and ham. Place in a greased
lr2 -quart baking dish and cover
with lattice biscuit made as fol
lows:
Make regular biscuit dough,
substituting tomato juice for the
liquid in the recipe. Roll dough
out to li-inch thickness and cut
in strips. Place in lattice fashion
over top of pie. Bake in a hot
oven (400°F.) 30 minutes, or
until crust is well browned.
