As the acting president, he will
have the responsibility of carry
ing out the program, planning and
administration until the confer
ence reconvenes in Atlantic City,
N. J., next April.
A familiar figure at conference
since 1934. when he first went
on the staff of the National Urban
league, Granger will work with
the executive committee in the
coming year to implement recently
adopted plans for conference re
organization. Complete reorgan
ization will take at least three
years or until the terms of the
present committee and section
members- expire. However, there
are many phases of the recom
mendations which can be put into
operation immediately.

of the Southeastern Business and Professional and Industrial con
ference last week at its meeting at Camp Chelan in Sallersburg,
Ind. Miss Edmonson, a native of Lebanon, Tenn., is a home dem
onstration agent of the U. S. Department of Agriculture for the
state of Tennessee. She is a graduate of A and I State college in
