Teen Age Chatter By Dorothy Green. To start off with this week I would like to thank Birdie Powell, Jeanne Ivory, and Margo Knowles for all the news they have been contributing these past few weeks. I hope they will keep the good work up. * * * * There is an addition to the list that was in last week’s paper concerning the number of teen agers trying out for Joy Night. Jeanne Ivory* will also try out. * * * A number of teen agers went to Omaha last week end, they said they had a real gone time. * * * Pete Holcomb had a gathering at her home last week. There were a number of teen agers there. They spent the evening in formally. * * * Orchids to Peaches Winston for winning the fine Elgin watch at the Capitol Theater. Cecil Hatcher ran a very close second. * * * • The teen age party was held at the Urban League Saturday, the 28th. It was real nice. * * * Seems like Bettie Rose can’t keep her mind off of a certain boy. I wonder why? * * Songs of the week: “True,” “Early in the Morning,” “Since I Fell^or You” and “Two Loves Have I.” * * * I have noticed that Jeanne Malone and Joyce Williams are wearing the new look (good looking boys). * * * I see that Billy Burns does not wear that Golden earring any more. I wonder why? * * * I see that we have a couple of baby sitters in our midst. They are Loretta McWilliams and Doris Powell. * * * By the way, Birdie Powell, how did you get two of those pic tures that all the girls are going nuts over (picture of Billy Burns) and how did he get yours? . * * * The driving course offered at Lincoln High had attracted a number of our teen agers. They are Geraldine Nettles, Charles Camp bell, Bill Whitemon, Lois Hatcher and Birdie Powell. * * * I wonder who Lopy’s heartache is now? Could anyone tell me? * * * Say, Patsy Hubbard, who is this boy you like in Omaha? If I’m not being too personal, what about Bill Whitemon? * * * Hey, Jean Burns, who were you in the show with the other Sunday; also your sister Poochie? (Try to talk yourself out of that, girls.) Gustavson (Continued from Page 1.) to the teeth, you must obey the orders and directions of the only men who can control the great machinery of war.” The refusal of the Senate Armed Services Committee to accept the appointment of Maj. Gen. Kuter as chairman of the Civil Aeronau tics Board is an indication that the president must now look toward the civilians in his ap pointments. In times like these the world especially needs such men as Chancellor Gustavson—men who hew close to the chalk-line of right and hold the line plumb to truth; men who make duty and truth their goal and go straight to their mark, turning-'neither to the right nor to the left.
