» . • r T't T* 9 B Social Briefs harrison-bell Miss Marguerite Harrison was married to Walter C. Bell Sun day afternoon at Christ Temple church by Rev. T. O. McWilliams in the presence of over a hundred guests. The bride was given away by her grandfather, Mr. James Gill. She wore a bridal gown of white satin which was an heirloom formerly worn by the sister of the groom, Mrs. Ernestine Alexander. Her veil was fingertip length with a crown of white gardenias. The bride’s attendants were Miss Mary Jane Lamb who wore a gown of blue taffeta and gold accessories; Miss Clintona Smith who wore yellow net and silver accessories; and matron of honor Mrs. Ruth Wil liams, who wore a pink sheer. All attendants’ bouquets were of pink and white asters. The bride’s bouquet was of white gladioli and pink asters which was caught by Miss Freddie Powell. The reception was held at the Urban League. Miss Jac queline Johnson and Miss Glen davon Baugh, both of Omaha, were in charge of the gift room where many beautiful and use ful gifts were on display. Mrs. Sarah Tarpley and Mrs. Ruby Perry were hostesses and Mrs. Walter Bell, mother of the groom served the wedding cake which was a gift from the manager of the Lindell Hotel. Little Sharol Dean and Vera Cazon were the train bearers and wore formal gowns of peach and blue taffeta. Miss Winifred Winston sang and was accompa^ed by Mrs. Eugenia Brown. Mrs. Izetta Ma lone played the wedding march. The out of town guests were Eddie and Glendavon Baugh, Mr. and Mrs. B. Beard, Mr. and Mrs. Shearron, Mrs. Charles Trimble and son, Von-Richard, Mr. and Mrs. William Perkins, Mrs. Rachel Woods and Mr. and Mrs. Daniels, all of Omaha; Mrs. Ma bel Carringer of St. Joseph, Mis souri; Miss Gertrude Collier and Mary Collier of Falls City, Ne braska. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Robinson en tertained the bride and groom in their home Sunday evening with a few friends. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Botts gave a pre nuptial party Satur day night. Rev. and Mrs. R. A. Lane and Rev. and Mrs. B. T. McDaniels were the dinner guests of Mrs. Mary B. Denton Sunday after noon. Miss Elizabeth McWilliams has returned home from the hospital alter spending 5 weeks there. Movie star ' Lena Home sailed for London last week, her first European trip. “I need a change from the fu rious tempo that has characterized my life in recent months,” Miss Horne said in her People’s Voice column. “I need the kind of re laxation that you can’t get in a dressing room or at 4:30 a. m. Zion Baptist Church, they want to meet all of the young sters of Lincoln. Children’s tick ets to the concert are selling at only twenty-five cents and there are only one hundred and fifty children’s tickets. Mary Bass, Birdie and Doris Powell will be glad to sell any youngster tickets. Many of Mt. Zion’s youngsters have both children’s and adults’ tickets. Adults are to see any member of Mt. Zion for their tickets. Pilgrim’s Junior Choir was greeted by about eight hundred people when they sang in St. Joseph, Missouri. A reception will be held for , them in the basement of the ' church following the concert.
