Davis The Teacher Wants To Know You and we should want to know the teacher, after all you have in trusted them with a great re sponsibility, helping to shape and mold the object of your affection. Usually the parents visit the teacher only when something has gone wrong. A failing or refrac tory child will bring about con ferences. Too often those con ferences start off on the wrong foot because the mother is wor ried or resentful, and because the teacher so-often feels it necessary to justify her procedure instead of clarifying it. It is difficult to reach an understanding under such circumstances, even with the most reasonable people. A foundation should have been laid before the trouble started. If there is no trouble, a mother sel dom visits school, sometimes she feels it embarrasses her child to have her come-particularily if he or she is in the upper grades. Classroom visits sometimes db more harm than good, unless the parent has the time to come often and consecutively enough to fol low and understand the objective of the teacher. With occasional visits she is too apt to misunder stand the procedure. A good teacher seeks the cooperation of the parents, usually parents are found to be willing and interested. Instead of father and mother say ing over the supper table that i they do not understand the schools of to-day, that they learned things differently when they were children, and that children don’t seem to be getting proper disicipline anymore, Mother explains to father just what things are different and why they are different. Sometimes the child psychology of well-read parents differs, or seems to differ from everyone else, if the teacher can visit the homes of their pupils that gives them a chance to get acquainted with the fathers as well as mothers. They learn something of the children’s back ground and their parents’ outlook on life. The children will reap the ultimate good from such pleasant associations. The plar will not be teacher motivated oi teacher dominated. The id^eas and the success will derive from the only possible source, both par ent and teacher. -o BEAUTY and FASHION HINTS Ann Watson Smitherman Dandruff One of the most common diseases of the scalp is dandruff, besides being a nuisance, it can cause the hair to'fall out and be come thin.
