The Scripture Text:—John 18-19
Memory Verse:— God so loved
the world that he gave His only
be-botten Son, that whosoever
believeth in Him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.”
The lesson in its present day
application:— *•
In this world many gifts are
exchanged1 and for many and
varied resons. Some to court
favor, some expecting something
in return. Gifts too are cheap or
costly.
The real gift though is one that<
is given out of a spirit of love.
No gift so given could be cheap
no matter what the cost in dollars
and cents.
‘‘The wages of sin are death”,
and all have sinned and come
short of the glory of God”, Still
though filthy with sin, God loved
the world. He gave His best,
His brightest jewel, His only Son,
for our redemption. But that
was not all, He will give eternal
life to all who believe in Him and
accept His death for their sins.
This quarter >we have followed
Jesus, through the eyes of John,
who is a faithful witness.
The question that confronts you
now is, “What will *you do with
this gift?
Can you open your eyes and see.
! the pain and Suffering? Can you
realize the great debth of love
this gift brings? Would you be
willing to give the life of your
Son for some one who would
spit in his face?
Yet all these things were suf
fered for you.
Salvation will not be forced
upon you. You have a free
choice. It is yours to decide
whether to take or spurn the gift.
Why not take it today?

Prejudice Has No Place In The
U. S. Way of Life, says Utah Sen.
Washington, (ANP) “There is
no place for interracial or inter
denominational prejudice’ ’in our
way of life, Sen. Elbert D. Thom
as (D. Utah) told an inter-church
Fellowship meeting last week at
Reformation Lutheran Church on
Capitol Hill.
“Having broad theories will not
overcome various prejudices,” he
said. “This was shown so much
in America’s hatred of the Jap
anese in the last war. We as
sumed that anyone who was a
Japanese was an enemy regard
less of that person’s acts, feelings
or experiences.
“It has never dawned upon the
American people that if we had
tried to cover up all of the Ger
mans and all of the Italians in
America, as we did all of the Jap
anese, and to make them live in
camps, we would have had the
equivalent of a civil war on our
hands.”
