Alton Greene St. Louis, Missouri Sunday School Lesson By Rev. R. E. Handy Subject: Jesus Sums up His Claims. i Scripture Text: John 12: 12-50. Memory Verse: “I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” John 12:32. Topic: The Drawing Power of Jesus. —The Lesson Down To Date— Some years ago, in the city of Los Angeles, I watched a huge electric magnet loading scrap iron on a Japanese vessel. The magnet would swing out over an immense pile of scrap, tons of iron would cling to it, it would swing over the hold of the ship and release its burden. In a very short time the ship was full. No dirt was attracted, only metal. The power of the magnet has never been explained. We know it works, but we do not know why. There is a like attraction of the world for Christ. His ear thly life was not like some of ours. He was a poor man. The foxes have holes, the birds nests but He had nowhere to lay His head. At His birth, because men had no pity, He was forced to be born in a stable. He suffered a felon’s death being crucified. When He was buried, grave space had to be borrowed for Him. Yet we love Him. His life and ideals are a magnet that at tract men of all races to Him. His death for us, is a sacrifice of beauty. If we but follow in His foot steps, we will be lifting up His life, suffering and death. More and more will be attracted, and as they cling to Him they will leave behind the dirt and sins of their past life. Now that He has sat down at the right side of His Father in heaven, He has only you to lift Him up. Do not fail Him. -o Man Dies from Heart Attack (Continued from page 1) Mr. Walker and his wife, Mrs. Sara Walker moved to Omaha and placed their church membership with St. Johns A.M.E. and contin uing their faithful church work.
