Alton Greene St. Louis, Missouri Sunday School Lesson By Rev. R. E. Handy Subject—Jesus the Giver of Life. Scripture Text— John 4: 46-51 Memory Verse—“I am the resur rection and the life; he that be lieveth in me, through he were dead, vet shall he live.” John 11: 25.. — The lesson down to date — In today’s lesson we find three situations in which Jesus gives life to those in need. First: There was a certain Nobleman whose son was sick unto death. Physicians had given Him only hours to live. Hearing tnat Jesus was near he sought Him and asked Him to come and see his son. Jesus spoke the words “Go thy way. Thy son liveth”, and it was so. Second: A poor man by the ; pool of Bethesda for thirty eight years, unable to reach the water when it was troubled, was told by Jesus to “Arise, take up your bed and walk” and he was whole from that hour. Third, we find Jesus standing at the open tomb of Lazarus and awaking him from the dead to new life. Jesus, as he trod the dirt roads of earth, never tarried long in any one place. He was always on the move, going about doing good. He was concerned about the physical conditions of people. He was, and is, concerned about their spiritual condition. Learning from Him we should be concerned about our physical and spiritual lives. We need to be on our toes to keep our bodies in the best physi cal conditions in order that we may live a long happy life. Of greater moment is the right mental attitude toward God that we may attain to the Life ever lasting. It is not the wish of the heaven ly Father, that any should perish, for “God so loved the world, that who-so-ever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have ever , lasting life.” John 3: 16 I ■IIIHII* llll II Mil !■!■■■ Patronize Our Adveriizers SHOWALTER ROOFING GO.
