Colossians 3:20 Monday—Psalms 30:5 Tuesday—1 Samuel 2:2 Wednesday—2 Timothy 1:3 Thursday— 1 Thessalonians 1:2 Friday—Daniel 9:17 Saturday—St. John 14:18 Mrs. J. Alton Greene St. Louis, Missouri Sunday School Lesson By Rev. R. E. Handy Subject— “Jesus Crosses Racial Boundries.” Scripture—John 4: 1-42 Memory verse— “W hosoever drinketh the water that J shall give him shall never thirst.” John 4:14. —The lesson down to date— Jesus was always interested in people. Racial differences, sex, Economic conditions did not mat ter in the least degree to Him. We find many interesting things in this lesson pertaining to the character of Jesus. He had no false dignity. He would speak to a stranger. He had no race prejudice. A Samaritan needed the light as well as a Jew. This woman was also poor. His approach was perfect. He asked a favor. He knew how to make contact. Christianity has a great work to do. Its program must be groov ed to meet human needs. You can nor reach the unsaved by being aloof, selfish and greedy. Meet the -scarlet woman, the gambler, the drunkard with a word of kindness and understand ing. Except for the- Grace of God you would be in their position. A feeling of superiority finds race prejudice and an attitude of “I am better than thou”, repells the sinner and thwarts the very thing you wish to do. May I pass on to you the three “S’s” of Christian service. They are “Soap, soup and Save.” First a “down and outer” needs his body nourished; second, he needs to be washed and cleaned up. After he is physically clean, then work on cleaning up his soul. Christianity has not failed. It has not been tried. Patronise Our Advertisers SHOWALTER ROOFING CO.
