Scalloped Corn & Tomatoes 1 can corn 1 can tomatoes 2 teaspoons salt 1 tablespoon sugar 3 tablespoons butter or oleo pepper Va cup water buttered bread crumbs * Mix together 1 can corn and 1 can tomatoes (drain off liquid) add salt sugar, butter, then pep per to taste, add Ya cup water. Pour in greased casserole, cover top with buttered bread crumbs. Temperature around 400 degrees, *5 to 60 minutes. Sprits Cookies 1 cup butter 2!3 cup sugar 3 egg yolks txk cups cake flour (sifted before measuring) 1 teaspoon almond flavoring Cream butter, add sugar, then beat thoroughly. Add the egg >olks, then the flour and flavor ing. Chill. Fill cookie press, force through :n shapes as desired on the un •rreased cookie sheet. Tempera ture 375 degrees. Baking time 8 ’o 12 minutes. o c^> o o cz=> o o s> <=> o Macaroni "n" Cheese Loaf 1 cup 7-minute macaroni % pound American cheese diced lVi cups milk scalded 1 cup soft bread crumbs V4 cup melted butter or margar ine 1 can pimento, chopped 1 tablespoon chopped parsley 1 tablespoon chopped onion Salt pepper, paprika 3 beaten eggs Cook macaroni 7 minutes in boiling salted water; drain. Melt cheese in top of double boiler, gradually, add milk, stirring con stantly, add bread crumbs, but ter, pimento, parsley and onions; season, add eggs; fold in maca roni. Pour into greased 5 by 9 inch loaf pan. Bake in a slow oven (325 degrees) until firm about 50 minutes. Serves 6. Serve with tomato sauce. —-o Household Hints To treat scratches on oak furni ture, cover the scratches with brown liquid shoe polish. Then wax over the area.
