J.—(ANP)—This town, New Jersey’s capital, wel comed one of its favorite sons back last Sunday when George Lawrence, journalist and execu tive secretary of the American Council on Youth, spoke before the local NAACP branch mem bership. Advocating a complete integra ted democracy, Lawrence praised the new Trenton school system as “the best in the country.” He told the youth that there must be “less accent on jitterbug and more on concrete, constructive action.” The large audience cheered him when he said that America is fur thering the spread of communism as long as she adheres to the phi losophies and theories of the rant ing Rankins and Bilboes. He was introduced by Joyce Dinkins, a member of the Tren ton NAACP Youth council and sister of a former classmate of his. -o Indictment (Confined from page 1) filed the suit against the hate group on orders from Gov. Handy Paul Admonishes the churches . Scripture Text— 1 Cor. 6: 9-10. 11:17-27. Golden Text—Let us walk be comingly a^in the day”. Rom. 13: 13. The Lesson down to date— One each quarter our Sunday School lessons deal with Temper ance. During the war, and since, the use of liquors have increased to an alarming degree. While there was a time that the saloons were a meeting place for men, now women crowd away the men at the bar, so much, so that they have been given the name, “bar flies.” The consumption of Alcohol, if continued, leads to disease, and the addict can not stop its use, with out help. Paul’s primary mission was es tablishing churches, but he real ized that these same churches must have growth. Too often he noted that when the congregation had met for worship, they resorted to drink ing and drunkenness. Hence he wrote these letters to the church es. The problem that Paul had then, still confronts the churches. While church members do not drink at church, some drink at bars and in places, where sinners congregate and in so-doing lose their influence in trying to win their campaigns to Christ. The best way to overcome is total abstinence. Abstinence is something not for ourselves at all. But for others. Paul says, “If eating meat, causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no more meat. -o EVERYBODY SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED ' WITH SOME CHURCH.
