Mrs. Margaret McWilliams The Sports Front With Smoky By Howard “Smoky” Molden i mr This week we find a strong Lincoln High Eleven on the road. We find them moving in on Omaha Central. And I believe there is no doubt in the minds of those who have seen Lincoln High perform in previous games, as to who the winning team shall be. Nebraska fans who have thrill ed to those razal dazal Saturday games displayed by the Huskers will have to wait until next Satur day, November 16, before another great treat. This coming Friday we find Cathedral playing host to Tal madge on the Lincoln High Oval. Bertram Cooke who has been do ing a great job for Cathedral will be seen in action. With Basket ball just around the corner, the boys at the Lin coln Urban League have begun sharping up their shooting eye under the careful coaching of Henry McWilliams and Roland Delaney. Both boys being ex service men and going to school at the University of Nebraska and Wesleyan. Assistant Coach Delaney is taking Physical Ed, at Wesleyan and seems to have what it takes. Both boys were well pleased with the turn out and are expecting a good team. Negro players seemed to be the problem children again this week as we have two big games being cancelled, the Florida-Pennsyl vania State game and the Missi issippi-Nevada games have been scratched off the books. So sport fans it isn’t whether you win or lose but who plays in the games.
