John Ohlsen & Sons—The Master Builders The Members of the Firm After twenty-three years as an associate member of the firm known as Ohlsen Brothers, our friend, John Ohlsen. has organized a good solid building business, to gether with his sons, William and Edwin, who have done work in Central Nebraska that are marked as monu ments. John Ohlsen came to this country from Berganhusen, Germany, in 1889, located in Loup City and has since been engaged in brick manufacturing, contracting and building business. Reviewing the enormous number of buildings erected in these years, we find not only those that have marked our sister cities, but those that are in Loup City, as a solid piece of masonary, making our city one of the most substantial, best built cities in the state for its size. William and Edwin have both been through the Ne braska State University, studied engineering, ventilation, fire protection, building laws, contracts, etc., and are able to handle the building business as modern times requires. These people do much drafting, designs of every de scription, make complete plans and specifications, esti mates. and in fact, everything necessa-y to complete a building. Referring to the statistical report, we find in the last eleven months that John Ohlsen & Sons are responsible for over 875.0000 worth of building work and during the same per d they have submitted over J2S8.000 in bids, which sh 'ws that these people are in for business and are able to do the work up right. b ‘Description of Buildings on Which Bids Were Submitted The I.
