Mrs. J. W. Thompson, who has
been very ill and underwent an
operation about two weeks ago is
improving nicely and will soon be
completely restored to health.
Miss Grace Lang left last Fri
day morning for her home at Uni
versity Place. She was accom
panied by Miss Ifuby Johnson who
spent a few days visiting friends.
Mrs. J. J. Jezewski and chil
dren returned from Ashton Mon
day evening where she. attended
the fourtieth wedding anniversary
of her parents.

St. Louis Missouri, last Friday
evening where she has been visit
ing with relatives the past three

after spending a few days here

Hastings spent a few days here
visiting with their son and

The eighth grade gave a fare
well party to Miss Ciora Plant
AVednesday evening at the home
of John Needham. The evening
was spent in various games and
light refreshments were served.

The Sophomores held a party
last Thursday evening at the home
of Miss Katie Janulewicz. Light
refreshments of ice cream and cake
were served, and all those present
reported a fine time.
Rev. Teodor Young arrived here
from Chicago Monday and will
spend the summer here, holding
regular services in the Swedish
church. Rev. Young will return
to Chicago in the fall to resume
his studies.

Island yesterday morning to bring

Tuesday morning after visiting
here a few days with relatives.
She was accompanied by her
father, Fritz Johansen, and her
neice, M iss Fay French who will
visit there for some time.
William Fletcher, of Austin,
shipped a car of horses from Loup
City to Grand Island Monday.
These horses were purchased’ for
the English army. Thousands of
horses have been shipped out of
Nebraska to the warring nations in
Europe, farmers receiving several
million dollars from that source.
