Mr. Chandler, from Loup City, was in town last Saturday, putting in new phones. Mrs. Eva Griffin left for her home at Alliance, after a three weeks’ visit here with relatives. Mrs. Peter Lorenz, who has been sick for a long time, is still con fined to her bed at home. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jensen were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Paulsen last Sunday. Albert Seabeck caught the largest catfish last Monday evening that was ever pulled out of the Loup river here. Frank Dymek is building a new porch on his house and painting all the outbuildings, which makes a nice appearance. The Rockville schools will close on Friday, May 21, with a picnic at Hans Hehnke’s grove, with a picnic dinner one of the features. Harry Bowen and Charles Christen sen, who have been working at the county farm for a few months, re turned home last Friday. Mrs. Waltemar Lang and Mrs. Frank Thomson left for their homes in Cherry county, after a month’s vis it with their mother and other rela tives. Mrs. Adella Hoes, district deputy of the Royal Neighbors camp, stopped here between trains and attended with the Royal Neighbors Saturday afternoon. Frank Eastman, Edgar Daddow, Dutch Werner and Rhunna Bans comb have all filed for Rockville post master. Next Saturday they will go to Grand Island to take examinations. A. B. Outhouse, from Loup City, was down on business Thursday, and took the freight home, but came right back through here in an auto with a load going to Ravenr.a, and beating the train hack. The Royal Neighbors observed Mothers’ day in a very fitting manner Saturday afternoon at the opera house. A program in the line of sing ing and speaking was given, every one appreciating it, and after, re freshments were served. All left having spent a delightful afternoon.
