Mallory, carrier on Route 1 out of Litchfield, and carrier on Route 2 out of Loup City, met Mon day for the first time at the Bichel corner since last December. It looks like we had some long necked rabbits the way the fruit trees are peeled. Thousands of fruit trees young and old. throughout the coun ty were killed by the rabbits. Have you ever taken a peek at Pritchau’s new glass green house, it is something Loup City can be very proud of. Everything is nice and green and he will soon have radishes, lettuce, tomatoe plants and other things that are relished in tlie spring. Loup City certainly has an up-to-date truck gardener. C S. Morrison dragged the road along tlie divide Tuesday. Morrison is a road boss that realizes tlie im portance of a road drag. It will save dollars to any district to keep the roads dragged through the entire year. Not hing helps the country like weli dragged roads. Will Belirens made a new windmill tower and put it in place last week. To make a tower like the one lie made, requires lots of springing and in some way the braces gave way and the end of one of the Iwards struck him across the nose between the eyes, the force of the blow knocked him backwards off from a barrel he was standing on to the frozen ground. He lay there several minutes before lie was able to get up. He is all O.K. now. The ice lias all gone out of the river in tiie past week. No damage was done at ail at this point The snow is also gone except for some of the big drifts and it will be some time before these are gone. We believe that in May some of the snow will still lie here. Winter wheat never came out of the winter in better shape, there is a green cast over the fields.
