Poor Beush is such a huge joke himself, that everything appears to him in that light As a hugher joke than the Nortnwestern edi tor's candidacy for representa tives, we suggest that Beush take to the Chautauqqa platform and deliver lectures, and less he might not be able to select a more inter esting subject, we suggest the timely topic of “How I got to be postmaster.’’ Leave orders for John McDouall dray at either lumber yard, or at E‘ G. Taylor’s, or Phone Red 104 In an item in the Northwestern last week, the figures made us say that the veteran harnessmaker. J. B. Flint, came to Sherman county and to Litchfield in 1896, when it should have been 1886 instead. That makes Friend Flint au earlier comer by ten years. In this case, at least, figures could lie. So lay all the blame to the figures, and none to the always j correct Northwestern. MY HOME FOR SALE Haring decided to more on a farm nest spring. The Northwestern contained an item last week in regard to the Graack Brothers, which was very incorrect, in that we had it that Peter and bis bride had moved to Iowa, while Hans and wife re mained. The reverse was true. Hans going and Peter remaining. Otherwise the item was in keep ing with the fact. Flour sacks for sale at the Ideal Bakery. Quite a number of changes oc curred in business relations the past number of days. Ten us Bie mond purchased the Wes Pedler garage, which he later traded to W. H. Garner for the latter's blacksmith shop. Still later, Mr. Biemond sold the blacksmith shop to Jim Kay. We had intended to make an ex haustive write-up of the famous i fat-lean bawl-ball game at the park last Thursday afternoon, but our thought got mixed up ‘with the muses and our poetic reporter took the edge off of same by rhmying the event in better shape, and we let it go at that. It was however, a bewildering maze of disappointments to the heary weighs who just could not get in to action with their beefy propen sities and the scrawnies put the kibosh all over them to the tune of 21 to 4, and had not the skele tons took pity on them and put Mutt in the box, the fat squabs would have had nothing but goose eggs to their credit.
