Mrs. Gordon Snyder at Comstock Is
very low and Is not expected to live
at this writing.
The carrier returned from a three
days camping trip up at Pony lake
last Wednesday evening. There were
four in the party, Will Shuman, Will
Garner, Irvin and J. W. Conger. We
had all the fishing we wanted, all to
gether we caught 100 bullheads that
averaged over a pound apiece, and we
caught five hundred sun fisn, all of
them. Pony lake is about one mile
long and you can catch fish anywhere
In it as fast as you can throw In your
line. You can rent a boat or tent or
any thing you want. If you don't
ca*e to camp out they will board you
by the week. The trip by auto takes
about 71 hours and about two! days
by train. Pony lake is 102 miles north
west of Loup City. The lake Is fed
a number of flowing wells. In mak
ing the trip, wbioh no one should
miss, you first go to Ord, tben to
Burwell then 18 miles north west to
Gracie creels to Grade postoffice then,
to Pony lake,

Marmion Lodge No.Ill,Knights
of Pythias, with their families,
beginging after noon and lasting
until they get through, will hold
a romping picnic Wednesday,
August 19th, at Jenner Park.
Now there picnics and picnics,
but when these Knights say picnic
they pic some eats, stick in some
nic and maybe a few nacks and
make for the road where all signs
point toward Jenner’s. Once all
inside Knight Jenner turns over
the place to the rompers and that
which makes K. of P. picnics
stand out in history breaks forth.
Trouble is left outside the gates,
worries thrown over the fence and
fun is the leading spirit of the ,

mobiles-in-waiting so as to make
their get-away if need be.
Many other features are in the
making and no one there will be
allowed to do anything bqt what
he and she pleases.

pected to bring his whole family

County Convention
On last Saturday, July 11th, a
meeting of the Sherman county
republican central committee was
held at the office of Aaron Wall,
and a considerable number of the
committeemen from the various
precincts were present and
taking part. It was recommend
ed that the several precincts hold
their primaries on the 18th day of
July, or at such other date as the
Precinct committee should decide
upon, and not later than the 23rd
instant The committee at its
said session decided to give to the
different precincts of the county
representation in said county con
vention based upon the vote cast
and one delegate for each major
fraction of twenty votes. Accord
ing to said arrangement and ap
portionment the precincts will be
entitled to representation as fol
low to wit:
Oak creek two, Logan four,
Washington three. Elm two,
Webster two, Loup City twelve,
Ashton three, Rockville three,
Clay three, Harrison four, Scott
two. Hazard three, Bristol two.
Reports received from the mem
bers present showed the best of
conditions among the republicans
of the county, an eager desire to
assist in boosting good republi
can ticket to victory this fall,be the
same state, county, or otherwise.
It is greatly desired that each
precinct do not over look the com
ing primaries, or the holding of
the county convention, and will
join hands in doing all that can
3e done for party success.

ty amounting to $15,742.25 were on
motion deducted from their asspss*

Court has held section 6168 uncon

is not a proper basis to determine the
franchise valuation or value of the
intangible property.

Farnsworth, guardian, for the reason
that above amount is loaned out on
real estate and the mortgage con
tains the tax clause.
