Bert Schumann and wife spent Decoration Day at Boelus, Bert returning home that evening, Mrs. Schumann remaining for an over-Sunday visit. Clarence McLaughlin came up from Aurora last Friday evening for an over-Sunday visit, return ing hame Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Annabel of Pool, were visiting here Decoration Day and over Sunday with H. L. Bell an'd family. The two ladies are sisters. l>r. Carson, ear. eye, nose and throat specialist of Grand Island, will be at Dr. Longacre's office in Loup City on Wednesday, June 10th, for consul and treatment all those af flicted with above troubles. Harry Miner filed for sheriff last Saturday and will again try elusions with other candidates on the political mat. One thing can be said of Harry and that is he isn’t a quitter. The next meeting of the county board will be on Monday June 8, for regular routine business, fol lowed the next three days in ses sion as board of equalization. Art Reed, Mrs. Hattie Reed, Miss Leda Reed and Mrs. O’Con nor all of Greeley autoed to Loup City last Friday to be present De coration Day, returning home Sunday. Miss Hallene Mellor left for Central City Monday morning where she goes for a protracted visit. Miss Hallene has just re covered from a successful opera tion for tonsilitis and adenoids, performed by the Drs. Bowman. Sami. Maska of Milwaukee, Wis., and L. A. Enderlee of Au rora, visited here Tuesday of this week with their nephew and brother, A. L. Fnderlee, and fam ily. The uncle and nephew had not met before in 22 years. T. A. Taylor and family con template making a protracted visit on the Pacific Coast with their daughters. They expect to continue their stay in the west for several months and if they like it may make it their home. J. E. Austion, a prominent in surance man of Omaha, we under stand, will soon move to Loupi City to make this his headquar ters. He has purchased through J. W. Dougal lots owned by A. W. Mason of St. Paul, just west of the Hayhurst home, and will huild a fine home thereon. Deputy County Clerk'A. W. , Boecking, wife and baby went to F. Gappa’s little girl who has been quite ill is at this writing is much better. Mrs.Froehlich left this morning for Walt Hill to spend the sum mer with her daughter, Mrs. Nigntingale, her little grandson accompanied her. A marriage license was granted May 28 to Irvin R. Olson, Litch field, and Golda May Riggens of Hazard, Judge Smith also uniting them in wedlock. • Litchfield last Friday for Decora tion Day exercises and to visit over Sunday with old time friends and relatives, Mr. Boeeking re turning to hi<> duties Monday, while wife and baby stayed for a longer visit. Dr. J. E. Bowman leaves this evening for Chicago where be ex pects to spend some time in the medical work at that place. Dr. Carrie Bowman will take care of the practise while Dr. J. E. is absent. Miss Zoe Leeper closed a very successful term of school in dis trict 53, with a basket dinner. Both pupils and patrons are sorry to lose Miss Leeper, but wish her success in her school work, next year at Weslyn University. A marriage license was issued the 28th to Mr. Louis Jamrog, one of leading young merchants of Ashton and Miss Agnes So bieszczyk, one of the most charm ing girls of that section. The wedding took place Tuesdsy, June 2, in that village, an account ot which we hope to receive later foi publication. May success and happiness follow them thro’ life.
