Last week John Oltman had his

here last week Saturday, expound

Clark Alleman, who was called
here last week by the fearful
accident to his brother’s little boy,
returned the first of the week to
his home at Frankfort, Kas. Ask
ing Clark if he was not coining back
and as to how that country com
pared with this, and he admitted

bable he would return here some

The sale of Holstein cattle at the
Woods bam last week Wednesday
| afternoon was quite lively and
! prices good. There were some
twenty-five cows and several calves
and the prices ranged from $67
and $68 up as high as $117 each.
It was the first sale of Holsteins in
this city for the past number of
years. They were shipped here
from Arcadia, New York, only
stopping off at Seward for a few
days before being shipped on np
here, hence showed up in not the
best form from their long travel.

REW AUTOMOBILE LAW

automobile laws of Nebraska. The

and the penalty for violation
will be $10 for every mile an of

be $50 for the first mile and $100
for the second, $200 for the third,
etc., that the team runs; in addi
tion to the usual damages.
On approaching a corner where

his horn, ring a bell, fire a revol

Automobiles must again be
seasonably painted, that is. so
that they will merge with the pas

ling. They must be green in
spring, golden in the summer, red
in the autumn and white in winter.
Automobiles running on the
country roads at night, must send
up a rocket every mile and then
wait ten minutes for the road to
clear. They may then proceed
carefully, blowing their horns and
shooting Koman candles.
In case a horse will not pass an
automobile, the automobilist will
take machine apart as rapidly as
possible and conceal parts in the
grass.
In case an automobile approaches
a farmer's house when roads are
dusty it will slow down to one
mile an hour and the chauffeur
will sprinkle the dust in front of
the house with a hand sprinkler
worked over the dashboard.
