District Court convenes April 7th.
This will be a jury session, and will
be most interesting, the Litchfield
alleged bootlegging and the Koru
rumpf alleged rape case coming up at
this coming term.

A. W. Boecking went to Kearney
! last Thursday to attend the wedding
of a friend, returning Friday, accom
panied by his wife and baby, who had
seen visiting Mrs. Boecking’s parents

The city council met last Friday
afternoon and passed an ordinance
prohibiting hawkers, peddlers and
itinerant merchants from doing busi
ness in Loup City. The ordinance is
elsewhere in this paper. Bead it.

position with the Loup City Mill and
Light Co., and accepted a position
with the Ravenna Creamery Co. here.
Bert Fiebig has accepted the position
made vacant by Mr. Conger.
Frank Lorchick pays the highest

Master Edwin and Mias Bessie Bur
nett from Rockville visited the grand
father, James Burnett, here over last
Sunday, returning home Monday
morning. Lee Burnett tells us he
has sold his business at Rockville and
may move back to Loup City.

Last Friday evening about sup
per sime, while Forest Larsen was
attempting to handle a 700-pound
barrel at the Merc, store, the
| heavy weight caught the first two
fingers of his left hand underneath,
; crushing the index finger badly

severely injuring the middle fin
ger. It is not thought he will
lose either finger.

ings. approaches and sidewalks in the
above said city. Bids shall be per
square foot. Sidewalks and approach
es shall be built 1 to 6 of cement and
gravel, and not less than 4 inches
thick, with 1 to 21 top not less than
one-half inch thick and shall not cost
to exceed 13 cents. Crossings shall
not be less than 8 inches thick, built

to 5 w ith 7 to 21, top not less than 1
inch thick and shall not cost to ex
