Mr. and Mrs. Ed Larsen of Hamp ton visited over last Sunday with Will Larsen and family of this city. Ed being a younger brother of our enterprising merchant. The Industrial Society of the Pres byterian church will entertain their husbands at a “pot house’’ supper at the home of Mrs. John Lofholm. on the evening of Sept. 11—feed com mencing at 6:30. Judge Moon returned Tuesday evening from his extended trip along the Facitic Coast. He took in the coast from Seattle down to the south ern part of California, returning by way of Salt Latte City. LBanks Hale and Earle Thompson left yesterday morning on a hunting and fishing trip into the sandhills. It is thought they will at least scare seventeen kinds of fear out of both tribes as results. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Cattle arrived from Omaha. Monday evening for a ten days’ visit at the home of Mr. Cattle's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Nightingale. Mr. Cattle is employed in U. P. headquarters in Omaha. M rs. Cattle is in rather poor health at present, recovering from a recent operation. Felix Makowski last week had the the old frame drug store building purchased of Odendahl Bros.removed back in line with the other buildings of tne block, and another eye-sore spot is iliminated from our principal business street. We understand it will be occupied by the Willard Thompson pool hall. New cement walks are being added along the front. Irvin Conger the first of the week moved his barber shop into the front part of the Pratt pool hall, in the old postoftice building and has now a most advantageous as well as com fortable place for his tonsorial parlor. J. W. Dorsev moved his Suitorium into the room vacated by Mr. Conger, A. O. Zimmerman and family ar rived Tuesday evening from the nortk Pacific coast, where they went a few months since from Albuquerque, N M. They went from here to New Mexico a year ago for Mrs. Zimmer man's failing health, thence to Port 1 land, Oregon, for the same purpose thence to the home of Mr. Z.’s sister 1 Mrs. W. B. The walls are up to a respectable height, the front of the building adorned with a tine plate with the word Theatre inscribed thereon and oue can already see that the new opera house is going to be a fine adornment to the new improve ments for Loup City the coming season.
