The coming county teachers In stitute will begin the last dav of this month. July 3lst and last one week. Tliose old and tried instructors, Profs. Searson and Rouse, will again be in charge of the work, and will be as sisted by Miss MelvaDanielson.daugh ter of our genial B. & M.agent, J. A. Danielson, who will have charge of the muNic and primary work. Miss Danielson has for the past year been the musical instructor at the Peru' Normal school and will the coming year be employed in the same ca pacity at the Fremont State nomal school. We can confidently look for one of the most successful instututes tids fall ever held in the couhty. The Northwestern is in receipt of numerous letters from candidates for state offices, from week to week, ask ing us to boom their candidacies for the various places of trust, promising us that they will esteem it a favor it we help them to land said prizes, but when it comes to financial recom pence these candidates will occupy plenteous space in larger papers at a generous Der, while the little papers will be expected to give of their space freely gratis. Such is the results of the great and glorious farce of a pri mary system. We really must beg to be excused for not using our space at our own expense to pull chestnuts from the tire for the benefit of our big newspaper brothers. Norm Parks, formerly with theOrd Journal, has purchased the Broken Bow Republican of D. M. Amsberry. He lias the push, energy and gray matter under his caput covering to make it a success. We understand, also, that Horace Davis of the Ord Journal has purchased the Broken Bow Beacon and will give that paper a new impetus and give the people of that town and Custer county a live j democratic sheet. Also, his brother, j Alnsley, of the Greeley Center Iude-; pendent. In company with Ralph De Wolf, formerly of this city, have; started a new paper at Palmer, the j Journal.which, acopy before us shows snap and vigor, proves a welcome addition to the business interests of that little berg. May success attend each all of the above enterprises.
