John Minshuil has resigned his
position as deputy county clerk and
Lo_is Hein hasaccepted the appointr
merit to the vacancy. Mr. Minshuil

We are pleased to learn that latest
new? received by Mr. Gus Lorentz is
that Mrs. Lorentz, who is at the
home of her parents at Ravenna
being treated fora threatened attack
of appendicitis, is doing nicely and
tlie physician assures Mr. Lorentz
she will not liave to undergo an
operation.
Tlie vitality of Grandma Haney is
truly wonderful for a woman of her
advanced age. After being confined
almost entirely to her room and bed
for tlie past four months, and her
demise thought to be a matter of
only a short period, now we under
stand she is able to be up and around
tlie home and seemingly growing

Little Mildred is in her first term
of school where she gets reports as to
her standing marked on a decimal
scale. One hundred is perfect, and
sixty is pretty serious. The other
night while saying her evening
prayers, her spirits, always high,
were actually irrepresible. and her
petition was punctuated with snick
ers and smothered giggles.
“Do you think the Lord will like
that kind of a prayer?" asked her;
mother reproachfully.
“Nope." returned Mildred glibly.
