Mr. Don C. Holmes and Miss Mvrtie
Itaddow were joined in the bonds of
wedlock by Rev. H. A. Strohl. in the
presence of more than one hundred
relatives and friends. Mi<> Cecelia
Goodwin was bridesmaid and Mr
Robert Holmes the best man. The
groom is a son of Mr. George Holmes
of near Ravenna and one of the mo>t
highly respected young men of that
community. The fair bride is the
only daughter of Mr. Joseph Daddow
and one of the most popular young
ladies of Clay township. They have
the good wishes of their many friends.
After the ceremony a sumptuous
supper was served to which evervone
present did justice, after which their
friends and relatives presented them
with $40n worth of beautiful and
! useful presents. *

Omaha Tuesday evening, not having
to undergo an operation for interna,
hemorrhoids, as noted last week,

side of Dr. Evans' father at Mapie
ton. Icwa. where he is visiting after

doctor left his father much improved
in health.
John Wall was in the city a few
hours last Thursday on his way home
from a trip down into Tennessee with
Troy Hale. While in the confines of,
the southern democracy, he visited
the historic battle ground at Mur-j

Mrs. Bose Bishop of Boyd county
arrived here last Friday on a visit to
her mother. Mrs Geo. Keeler, and
two brothers and sister here. Mr.

family reunion of the mother and

Wednesday morning Mr. and Mrs.
Bishop returned to their home, bv !

will consult a specialist on a supposed
cancerous growth on her face, so
pronounced by several physicians
and which was caused by an ulcerous
tooth. Mr. Bisliop has sold a por
tion ol ids property in Boyd countv
and with his wife will remove soon

extensive tract of land.
Rev. Joseph James returned from
Shelton Tuesday, where be bad been
to preach for the Baptist people the
Sunday previous. While there lie
accepted a call to the church, where
lie will begin his pastorate as soon as
the congregation here accepts his
resignation and will relieve him of
the charge which will probable be
within tlie next ten days. Rev.
James has also purchased' propertv
at Slielton and so far as he knows at
present will make that village his
future home, as he desires to make a
permanent lmme at once and is well
pleased with tlie town and people. I

there until his health is permanently

Owing to the tardiness of those
having sheriff s costs iu civil suits in

aggregating between one and two
hundred dollars. 1 will hereafter in
