Mr. Joe Steele, a nephew of W. T. Hibson, who has rented the Hayliurst farm a few miles northeast of Loup City, arrived last Saturday from Beatrice with his goods and chattels, preparatory to taking charge of the farm March 1st. Coroner Main was called to Hazard tins morning to hold an inquest over the body of a Mr. N an Buskirk. who was found dead and the body in a badly decomposed state, at his home in or near that town. We have no further particulars, as to whether it was a case of suicide or otherwise. Nearly Lost an Eye. While assisting at the Dinsdale yards yesterday in dipping cattle. Lou Winklemann came within an ace of losing an eye. While prodding cattle, one of the animals lunged against the end of the prod jamming the other end into Lou's forehead just above the eyeball, requiring four stitches to sew up the wound made. Anti-Saloon Man Egged. A nasty report comes from Ashton to tlie effect that while Rev. Carnes, superintendent of the state anti saloon league, was delivering a lecture there Monday evening, four men. whose names are now in possession of j the county attorney, did the hoodlum , act in the meeting, dist rbing it by j loud talk, nagging the speaker, throw- ■ ing peanut shells. Hashing a quart bottle of whiskey and drinking from the same publicly, and nearly break ing up the meeting by their acts, and at tlu* ciose, when the speaker was going home with Mr. and Mrs. Hunker, these same men threw lien fruit of unknown age at them. The names of these men have been hand ed the Northwestern, tint we prefer not disclosing same till we learn what action, if any. may lie taken in the matter.
