Ed. and Pub Tiie war by tiie two different factions in tiie republican party on tiie supreme judgsliip question is be ginning to bear the fruit naturally arising from tiie bad blood and bitter talk engendered between the friends of Ileese and Sedgwick. Tiie fool friends of tiie two candidates will now reap the reward of their faction al tight, which if it does not result in defeat of tiie republican candidate will at least scale down tiie majority either should have iiad by rights. Gibson’s record in tiie county clerk’s office as being shown up bv John Minshull through the columns of tiie Times, is so plain, succinct and truth ful, and tiie denial of Gibson so faint and in fact so bombastica . that even friends of the incompetent ex-clerk and who have heretofore believed im plicitly in tiieir little demi-god are becoming convinced against their will that he is what the records show, tiie most incompetent, ignorant and vicious official ever in that important, position in Sherman county, a fact which is patent to all whoha,ve looked up the records in the county clerk’s office. Tiie books are open to the public and there ean be no excuse for ignorance in regard to the incom petence of tiie fellow wlio lias been hounding a. number of our represent ative citizens and revealing his idiocy in beastly drivel to tiie public for nearly two years past in tiie columns of a typographical "What-ls-lt.” The Republican County Central Committee of Sherman county met in tiie office of Judge Wall last Saturday afternoon, pursuant to call. Judge Aaron Wall was made the unanimous choice for chairman of tlie central committee. Henry Tatigerman of Rockville township for secretary and Charley Snyder of Clay township, for treasurer. H. S. Conger was then bv unanimous consent elected delegate to the state convention of delegates at Liucoln. to formulate tlie parti platform and to reorganize tlie con vention of delegates under tin* new primary law. Chi second thought. Mr. Conger found it would be impos sible for him to accept, owing to tiie dates of the coming carnival which will be in full biast on tlie convention date, lie lis.ving made lousiness ar rangements for the carnival dates. His declination was accepted, and J. W. Burleigh was chosen as delegate, but tlie same reasons being beings assigned he was excused and tlie name of R. P. Starr was presented as delegate. Mr. Starr was about to decline, when a reference to his business calendar siiowed lie had business in Lincoln about the time of tiie convention date, and accepted the unanimous wisli of tiie committee tliat lie rep resent the party in said convention. Tiie work of organization was most harmoniously performed and the best of feeling manifest, and we may con fidently expect tlie bird of victory to perch upon the Republican banner as a result of tills fall’s elections Supervisors Proceedings.
