The Young People’s Society of the Baptist church will give an ice cream social on the lawn at the parsonage on Friday evening, the 2nd day of August. Taylor is suffering with a bad hand, with symptoms of blood poisoning. A few days since he tore his left' hand between the index and second finger badly on a nail in lift ing a heavy piece of lumber and allowed the injury to go unattended too long. The Sherman County Medical As sociation met here in regular session, Tuesday, one applicant, Dr. Talbot, being admitted to membership. No especial business of note was trans acted. Mrs. Hattie E. Coffin, a sister of Rev. McEwen, arrived last evening. Mrs. Coffin has been to the Pacific Coast and stopped off for a visit with her brother and family. He home is at Boston. Miss Millie Herschlag, who has been here visiting her parents for a few weeks, returned to Stanton last Saturday morning, accompanied by a younger sister, who will make a slibrt visit there. Mrs. Wm. Criss went to Lincoln last Saturday morning, where she will visit her sister and from there will go to Illinois for further visit, her niece, Miss Sophia Miller, accom panying her from Lincoln. Regular services will be held at the Presbyterian church next Sunday morning. Evening services will be held as usual on the courthouse square, weather permitting, other wise at the Baptist church. At the Presbyterian manse, Tues day, Rev. McEwen united in mar riage Mr. William Corey of Huxley, Neb., and Miss Minnie Krager of Ansley, Neb.
