Supervisors’ Proceedings.

County Board of Supervisors met in
regular session as per adjournment of
March 6, 1907. Present, H. Claussen,
W. O. Brown. Chris Nielson, I’. R.
Wyman, John Boecking, D. C. Grow,
chairman; R. H. Mathew, county
attorney, and C. F. Beusliausen, clerk.
Minutes of last meeting were read
and approved.
The application of Mrs. Elizabeth
Winkleman to the Sailors and Soldiers'
Home at Grand Island. Nebraska,
was granted by the board.
The White consent road was order
ed established commencing; at south
west corner of Section 12. 16, 14, run
ning west one mile* and terminating
at southwest corner of Section 12, 16,
14.
The board being satisfied that an
error had been made in allowing the
damages to L. J. Tracy on the Tracy
road, an order was made allowing an
additional $5.00 to L. J. Tracy.
The Pierson road was established
as prayed for, as was also the
Woznicki consent road.
Tire Fletcher vacation and petition
was taken up by the board and
allowed as petitioned for.
Lewandowski road No. 2 was
ordered established and Loup City
township to pay all claims lor dam
ages.
The consent petition of J. B. Ford
et al. was not allowed by the lward
as said petition did not contain the
required number of signers.
On motion board adjourned to June
14, 1907. '

County Board of Supervisors met
this day as a Board of Equalization
as by law provided. Present, full
board, C. J. Peters, county assissor,
and C. F. Beushausen, clerk.
W. McDonald came before the
board and asked to have the valua
tion on liis new house striken off, as
same was not completed by the first
of April and the money with which
he purchased same was assessed, the
board by motion ordered same stricken
off the tax list.
After examining the assesssor’s
books and hearing complaints the
board adjourned to the next day

C. M. Snyder appeared before the
board and requested that the stock
lield in the Farmer's Elevator should
not be assessed, as said stock is as
sessed as a stock company, and by
motion the board ordered the clerk to
strike out property assessed assures
in tiie Farmer's elevator.

was ordered stricken from the tax
list. *
It appearing to the board than, the
valuation of Hazard township was
much lower than a he previous year
and out of proportion to the valuation
of the different townships of the
connty, the clerk was ordered to raise
the personal property of Hazard 5
per cent.
The board by motion ordered that
cattle, horses, mules and sheep be
epualized in the different townships.

The de la Motte road petition was
taken up by the board and allowed as
prayed for, providing Hazard town
ship pays all claims for damages.
The Lewandowski rpad No. 1 was
allowed by the board and ordered
platted, provided Oak Creek and
Logan townships pay all claims for
damages.
The Stanzyk road No. 1, in Logan
township; the Else road in Scott
township: the Lorentz an'd Sund
strom roads were allowed and ordered
platted, provided the different town
ships pay all claims for damages.
Win. McDonald et al, appeared be
fore the board and asked to have a
road established along the south line
of 24-13-13. but as there was no peti
tion filed asking for same the board
could not oonsider same.
The Deininger road No. 1 was taken
up by the board, and as the same was
a consent road, the road was ordered
established.
The Deininger road No. 2 was al
lowed and ordered platted as far west
as the section corner of sections 45, 8
and 9.
The report of the road . committee
appointed to view the road southeast
of Ashton, relative to the petition
of John Maiefski and others, asking
for relief from the county to grade
up said road, was accepted and com
mittee discharged. Said report
recommended against granting any
relief.

by the county board at 81100.00 per
annum.
In the matter of the assessment of
Paul Chilewski. who, by affidavit
shows that he was twice assessed on
the same property, was by motion,
laid over till said tax is paid and that
said tax is to be paid under protest.
The following official bonds were
approved by the board:

Henry Hansen, overseer district No.
16, Ashton township.
Frank Polski, overseer district No.
17, Ashton township.
H. A. Walker, overseer district No.
25, Harrison towpship.

I. H. Winshell, justice of the peace,
Logan township.
Elmer Babcack, overseer district
No. 21, Clay township.
Motion made and carried that clerk
be ordered to purchase statutes for
the different county offices.
Board next proceeded to open bids
fqr building granary and corn crib on
poor farm which was awarded to W.
H. Rettenmayer at $487.50.

Road Notice.
[Young Road]
The commissioner appointed to view and
locate a road commencing at southeast corner
of Section twenty-four (24), Town thirteen (IS).
Range thirteen (13), and running thence west
on section line between Sections twenty-four
(31) and twenty-five (25) and terminating at
right-of-way of Union Pacific railroad, has re
potted in favor of the establishment thereof
and all objections thereto or claims for
damages must be filed in the office of the
county clerk on or before noon of the 31st day
of August. 1907, or said road will be established
without reference thereto.
