A very large crowd of young people , attended literary at Rose Valley last Thursday night. i C. A. Wineteer is shelling corn. Mrs. L. Sparks made a flying trip ; to St. Paul last week. Daniel Mumey is visiting his sister and brother. Solomon and Sadie Wine teer, and other relatives. A farewell party is to be given at the Woodman hall to Mr. and Mrs. Holmes and family, who will soon leave for their future home in Custer county. Mr. Holmes has lived in this vicinity for seven years and we are ! sorry to see him leave. Aaron Wall from Loup City had ! business in Rockville last week.' Ray Paulsen is clerking in Nielsen & Dwehus’ store. Uncle John Zimmerman was out to Cleora and gave us a short after talk last Sunday. ' I Mr. Jacoby from Hamilton county,; was here visiting his daughter, Mrs. McMullin, over Sunday. His son. j Dwight, intends buying land here. Mr. James Ling, another one of Mr. Weedin’s son-in-law's, has purchased the Reynold's property west of town. R. H. Gibson's left Tuesday for^ their future home in Texas. Mr. Sanford Foss is a victim of la grippe this week. Mrs. Goff visited over Sunday with Mr. Frank Johnson's. The Cleoria Aid Society will have their Easter bazaar March 33rd, at Mr. Kilpatrick's residence. They will serve a nice supper, also oysters, cream and fresh candies. Come everybody, especially the young folks, as we in tend to give you a fishing pond and a general good time. Mrs. O. G. Hunt received the sad news Friday of the death of her broth er's little bov. Death is no respecter of persons and one by one we are called to the beyond. ' Last Sabbaoh morning at 1:30 a. m. i occurred the death of Mrs. Curry, aged 43 years, of consumption. Her husband is a brother of G. A. Curry and lately came here from Missouri. She leaves six children. Loup City School Notes. Walter Callaham entered the ninth grade Monday morning. Miss Brach’s room is the only one that has had no cases of tardiness so far this month. Herman and Laura Stark are new pupils of the first primary. Mrs. Hiddleson visited the first primary room last Friday afternoon. M' roe Outhouse acted as substitute in the 1st intermediate in the absence of Miss Naumann on who was laid up with la grippe. Frank and Joe McFadden have stopped school and moved to the coun try with their parents. anda D/wingle, Lois Henrv, Nora Rawding, Johanna de Lyster, Rav mond Outhouse, Mildred Hiser and Tilly Haines are again in school after an absence on account of sickness.
