German church last Monday evening
and formed a church orginization, with
a choir, of which Miss Ernie Odendalh

•Tames G. Taylor, who v\as a resident
of Loup City about eight years ago is
now iu the employ of the Union Res
taurant at Grand Island, and will read
the news of his former home through
the columns of TnE North western.
A vicious old vagrant who was ply
ing his vocation on our streets Tuesday
was given a bed in the county boarding
| house that evening and turned loose
[ the following morning with admonition
to hit the road for other and more
congenial clime.
We received a pleasant call from Mr.
A. J. Roberts Wednesday, who occupies
the Morgan farm four miles east of
town. Mr. Roberts came to Sherman
county a year ago last spring from
South’ Dakota and likes his new home
immensely. As he is a roval repub
lican and a new reader of The North
western. of course he is all right.

Teeter, filed a petition against you in the
District Court of Sherman County. Nebraska,
the object and prayer of whicli are to obtain a
divorce and alimony from you on the grounds
of extreme cruelty, failure to provide and
desertion for more than two years. *
You are required to answer said petition on
or before October, 2nd. 1905.

Republican County Convention
The Republican county convention
met in Loup City, at Society hall, on
Tuesday of this week. We have re
ceived too late for publication this
week a rough draft of the convention’s
proceedings prepared by the secretary,
from which we cull the principal work
of the convention:
The convention was called to order
about 11 a. m. by W. R. Mellor. chair
man of the county central committee,
who read the call of the convention.
Robt. P. Starr was selected as tem
porary chairman, with C. T. McKinnie
secretary and W. M. Smelser assistant
s creiarv.
On motiou of Judge Wall, a commit
tee on credentials of one from each
township in which there were no con
tests was appointed, as follows: Loup
Pity, J. S. Pedler; Clay, John Mathew
son; Rockyille, H. F. Tangermao;
Webster, M. A. Gilbert; Harrison. A.
II. Gray; Logan, 11. II Musser: Oak

RESOLUTIONS
We. the Republicans of Sherman county,
Nebraska, in convention assembled, con
gratulate the American people upon their un
precedented record of success and the un
bounded prosperity whieh prevails in every
section of our country.
We call upon the people to witness the
transition from Democratic misrule and limit
less disaster to the long line of Republican
achievements and national successes, both
domestic and foreign.
Every promise made by tne Republican
party during the decade which has just passed
has been amply fulfilled and every prophecy it
has uttered has become an accomplished fact
to the extent that every legitimate enterprise
within the limits of this great nation nus met
with unequaled and unparrelled success, till
our nation has become the marvel and the
admriation of the world.
We congratulate President Roosevelt upon
the wise, far seeing and able policies that has
marked his course, and upon his efficient and
honest administration as the cheif executive
of the United States.
We congratulate the people of the state of
Nebraska upon its honest, able and efficient
administration, and we express our pride in
the phenominal development of the state at
large and the thrift and prosperity evidenced
everywhere within its borders.
Republicanism can find no better encomium
than the contrast constantly presented between
Fusion and Republican 'ule within the state.
In the interests of justice, on behalf of
patriotism and good government, we pledge
ourselves anew to the time honored principles
and doctrines of the Republican party and we
cordially invite all friends and admirers of
honest government and good administrations,
county, state and National and all who believe
in progressive policies te join with us in this
coming campaign

Notice To Bidders
Sealed bids for leasing poor farm of Sherman
County, Nebraska, for three years commencing
March 1st. 1906. will be received at the County
Clerk's office at Loup City, Nebraska, on or
before September Uth, 1905. at 12 o'clock noon
Said farm contains 320 acres, less railroad
right-of-way. right-of-way of irrigation com
pany and public highways. Rent to be paid in
cash, semi-annually, one half on the first of
March and the other half on the first of
October of euch year. Lessee shall furnish a
bond with approved security.

The commissioner appointed to view and re
port upon a road commencing at a point on the
north line of Section sixteen (16), Township
fifteen (15) north. Range fifteen (15), on road
No. 216, about 90 rods east of the northwest
corner of said Section sixteen (16), and running
thence in a southwesterly direction along the
present route of travel along the east side of
a barbed wire fence, and following said route
of travel along the divide in a southwesterly
and westerly direction through Sections six
teen (16), seventeen (17) and eighteen (18).
keeping on the divide and as nearly as practic
able along the present route of travel, on the
divide and terminating at a point about 25 rod
south of the northwest corner of said Section
eighteen (18). where said line of travel connects
with the travelled road going west, all in
Sherman county, Nebraska, has reported in
favor thereof and all •claims for damage or
objections thereto must be filed in the office of
the County clerk on or before noon of the 26th
day of October. 1905, or said road will be
allowed without reference thereto.
