Ware, of St Paul earae in to see hs while Id the city last Thursday. Mr. Ware says that he is well pleased with his new home. He has been building to bis house and otherwise improving his city property. There are eleven graduates in the high school at this place this year. They are Marvin Lee, Edna Lee, Edith Angler, Rosa Rowe, Beth Zimmerman Lucy Grow. Ella Taylor, Grace Taylor, Edith Henry. Minnie Bechtold and Beatrice Nightingale. Swanson & Dahl have a complete line of groceries and you should call and see them. That Yale coffee they handle Is immense. The editor has tried it and thinks it good for the money. 15, 20 and 25 cents. W ord was recieved in this city last Tuesday morning by telephone, that little Adam, the youngest boy of Mr. and Mrs. Adam 8haupp, of Lincoln was then dying. It was a case of mumps which had devoloped into fatal form Misa Ethel Pearson closed a success ful term of school in the Bechthold dis trict last Friday and returned to her home in Litchtield on Saturday. Miss. Pearson has made many warm friends among our younge people who will tnis* her. 8. Koight and Fay Bacon, of Arcadia were in the city Wednesday awaiting thepriuting of a job of large posters which was turned out by this oillce. We turned out a fine $9.00 job In double quick time, and were complimented on both neatness and dispatch of printing I)r. J. W. Jones has a few bushels < f flue potatoes for sale for seed. Hughs, living <> miles south of Loup City was in town lust Saturday and took home a new set of harness which ne purchased at the Owen har ness shop. Mr. Hughs is the gentlemen who purchased the Ernry farm about a year ago. E G. Page called last Monday and handed us thiee round dollars, one to pay for a years subscription to F. C. Judevine, David City NVbr. and the rest to set him lu advance on his own subscription account. We are glad to udd Mr. Judevine to our list. G. II. Gibson recorder of the A. O U. W. lodge of this city received word yesterday morning from the recorder of the Lodge at Lexington .hat broth'-r Rulph Richards was dead. Mr. Richards was a member in good standing of the lodge of this city and is well known by all here. No particulars of his death were given. Mr. and Mrs. MHilely went to Grand Island last Friday to consult Dr. Davis about Mrs. Madely'a eves. Upon exam ination it wa* found that on operation was necessary, which was performed and they returned home in thu evening, But as the ailment is of a very serious nature she returned again Saturday an I will probably remain under the doctor's care for two or three weeks It is to be hoped that she will soon recover. Prof. Alberti gave his lecture in the opera house last Monday evening. The house was crowded and the lecture and entertainment was pronounced to he first class In every respect. Miss. Ethel Pearson entertained the Methodist choir at the home of her sis ter, Mrs, C. W. Gibson last Friday ev ening. Games and music made the eveniug seem short. Daiuty refresh ments were served. Milo Gilbert brought to town iaat Tuesday a hog that weighed 550 and for which he realized $0 60 per cwt, or 36.30. lie says that he has another one that he expects to turn the scales at 700 lbs when put on the marker. M. Merwin. The ninth grade of the Loup City High School gave the be-t entertain ment yet given last Friday evening. The storm which came up near the close somewhat interfered with the complet ion of the progiam but up to that time it was excellent and no mistake. The house was well filled. The monthly missonary meeting of the Epworth League will be held at the M. E. Church Sunday evening at 7 o'clock. A. Very interesting musical program has been prepared for the oc casion and you are all cordially invit ed to be present. The subject of the lesson is: ‘'Missions to Foreigner* in our own land” Little Clyde Rettenmayer, while playing wbith his playmates nearabon lire got his clothes on tire, but for the timely arrival of assistance he might have been seriously burned. As it was he escaped with slight injuries. The lire had burned through his overalls and undergarment* and slightly burned the the skin. D. L. Adamson came on from Chey. enne Saturday evening to join his family who returned to this city some weeks ago. Mrs Adamson’s father and moth er, Mr. and Mrs. J. D Ford came with him and will make Loup City their per manent home in the future Lee made us a pleasant call Monday. He says that although he has only been gone a bout 18 months, he sees a wonderful change in Loup City.
