II Hansel lost several head of stock the past week. The Polish Infare on Oak Creek last week was a howling success. Peter Rowe came up from Albion Saturday to visit his family A. B. Outhouse is having new shing les put on his dwelling. Lew Owen is back at bis needle again after a weeks stitchiqg at Arcad'*. Hans Koehwer of the east tide of the towkship dropped in for a social chat Monday. Henry Tangermati of Bristol twp. was at the county seat buying seed corn. Troy Hale was kicked by a horse the ocher day and now walks around on crutches. * Miss Amanda Vanscov went to Lin coln Monday to accept a position al College View. Three schooners and a fair sized herd of cattle passed through town going north Tuesday. A letter from J. Phil Jaeger informs us that he and his family are delighted with their new location. Mr. C. E. Sheppard of Broken Bow, father of our jeweler I. S. Sheppard, visited with his son over Sunday. Billy Mason had a lively little tilt with his team Tuesday morning, but Billy was equal to the occasion. W. O. Brown, tj Q. I'ray and Law rence Bousch. renewed their subscrip tion to this paper this week. Mrs. Win. Howe went to Louisville, Neb , Monday to visit her husband who is employed there at this time. W. II. Knapp of Oak Oreek is reported very Sick Later.—Just as we go to press we learn of Mr. Knapps death. Dr. J W. Jones was called to Osk Creek Tuesday to see W. II. Knapp. The doctor says his chances are very slight. Lawrence Bausch of the west side was in the city Saturday and left the wherewith with us for a years sub scriptions. Kev. L. E. Sparrs of Diyide was a pleasant caller at this offoe last Friday Eddie Holmes of Rockville twp. was among our callers Friday. The wives, daughters and sweethearts of the Woodmen boys of Rockville, made a raid on the cstnp room at the close of their last meeting and as the ladies always dog compelled the boys to surrender. They had with them sweet meat* galore, which one of the boys told us could only be compared with the osculatory sweetness he often enjoyes. A nice supper was served and a little terpschicorean sport after* The boys are in a fair way to build a new hall. Rockville people know bow to enjoy themselves. I Miss Mary Minshuli has accepted a position in the general store of <'has. Gasteyer. I'. 8. Nightingale will go to Lincoln next Monday to present a ease in the supreme court. Miss Goldsworthy is an accom plished lady and loved by all her associates. For some years past she has filled a position as compos itor at the ease in the Times office. She is one of the principal members in the M. E. Church choir of our city and has a host of admiring friends.
