The people of this city was horror
stricken last evening to hear the piteous
cries of .John Hayes whose wife was
killed by his «ide about 7 o’clock by a
terlfle stroke of lightening. They were
driving home in a lumber wagon from
the hay lot, sitting In fronton the seat,

of ibe wagon. When near the II. & M.
trai-k and about a half mile from home,

Hayes instantly ami knocking Mr. Hayes

Mr. Hayes was badly dazed, but soon
