('. E. Rosseter received a telegram
last Wedesday evening informed him
of the the death of his wife, who went
to Chicago about a month ago for med
■ ical treat ment. While this news was
daily expected by friends and relati ves
here for sometime past, yet it is w ith
much regret and sorrow that the news
was received. Mrs. Rosseter was among
the llrst settlers of Sherman county,
ami Is well known to ull our people
Her health has been quite poorly for
several months and all medical treat
ment failed to do her good, except
perhaps for a little while at a time.
She was taken to Chicago by her
daughter Mrs. O. B. Willard who visited
her while under treatment at Grand
Island. But the change did her no
good.
She leaves a husband, six daughters
and three sons to mourn her loss.
Her husband and two daughters Miss
Lon Rosseter and Mrs. 0. .L Odendahl
still reside at Lou.) City.

A. Watklnson was very seriously hart
last Saturday by falling down the cellar
way to the store building. The cellar
door opens opposite the entrenue to the
back of the building, and was wide
open when tbo accident happened. Mr
Watklnson was moving something and
stepped out of the door and Into the
cellar backwards. lie fall to the bot
tom, some eight feet, striking bis spine
on the edge of the lower step, The
physicians In attendance say that one of
his ribs Is torn loose from his spine and
that fall whole system is terrlably shak
en by the fall. It will probably take
him weeks to recover.
We learn that the graduating exerci
ses have been postponed until Friday,
May 28, and will then take place in the
Loup City opera house when tho fol
