Miss Nellie Christian took the west
bound train Monday morning for Big
Muddy, Wyoming. Kite has been teach
ing school at that place for some months
and spent Christmas and vacation at
home.
Charles Lewis returned from Omaha
with his wire Tuesday morning. Hhe
cuuld not he helped at the hospital, or
rather they thought she was too weak to
stand an operation, huviog a cancer in
the stomach.

They are living at Meckem's sawmill
where Mr. Worthington is employed.

pursuant to adjournment, Present
Bigelow, Jordan, Cullers and Pontius
clerk On motion it is ordered that the
rood petitioned for by F. N tto and
others is hereby allowed nnd declared a
public read and to tss so recoided and
platted.
On motion it is ordered that the mad
petitioned for by Patrick Lacy and others
be s.llwed and declared a public road
and be so recorded and platted.
On motion the county treasurer is in
struct.; to refund to A. Knori f2.70
amount of taxes paid under protest, it
being shown after investigation that the
same property had been assessed in War
bonnet and Rutiningw.iter precinct.
The following official bonds were tiken
up and on motion were approved.

The road petition of James Stoneking
and others was taken up and by nn a
irreement entered into between Win. J.
A. Raum hi behalf of the petitioners and
H. S. Parks in behalf of the reirtoimtrat
ora whereby the differences were to be
adjusted and all former petition and
remonstrances were to be withdrawn and
a new petition circulated by said Raum 1
and Parks adjusting the differences be
tween them satisfactory to all concerned

taken up and after due examination H
appearing to be a consent road and so
declared by each signer of petition the
road was declared allowed and road over
seer instructed to open and work said
oewly established road.
Taxes of $2 09 (aid under protest by
Henry Warooke in 1904 was taken up
and on investigation was fouod an
property wa assessed in Bowen and War
bonnet precincts and oo motion the
county treasurer is hereby authorized
to refund to said Warneka the amount
above slated.
Petition for bridge across Cottonwnod
creek bv B. C. Talley and others laid
over until next meeting.
Petition for bridges on the new road
petitioned for by P. Lu-y and others was
laid over until next meeting.
On motion the county treasurer be and
ia hereby instructed to transfer the bond
money of school district No. 6. now in
county treasurer's hands, to school dist
rict fund, district No. 26.
Tti official bond of M. J. Weber was
taken ud and on motion wa approved.
On motion the treasurer is instructed
to transfer 1000 00 from bridge fund of
1904 to gonersl fund of 1901.
The claim of J. J. Henry for poll taxes
paid for 1IHW was taken up and on invest

On motion the county treasurer was
instructed to refund to the estate of E.
llowney the sum of f 15.65 taxes paid

We were sorry to have I hem go but
business conies first. They stayed one
week so we won't complain us we know
several otheis were disappointed but
time was too short to gs eveiy where.
E. D. Harris, father of Lily and Lizzie,
came up (rnm Lincoln last Tuesday, so
he and the girls bad a good visit. He

started out Thursday morning to look
over the country ; the first, night they
stajed at Mr. Bourrets on Running
water, thes from there they were shown
the way to get to Mr. Mcintosh's ranch.
They stayed there over n'ghl, coming
home Saturday; they seen lots of coun
try. Mr. Harris is well pleased with the
appearance of the country and Uft on
Monday evening for Alliance. If every
thing is satisfactory he and his family
mav yet be Sioux county people; we
shall ne glad to welcome them.
Mr. and Mrs, Jones we 'e very agreeably
surprised last Tuesday evening (on ac
count of our three big girls who knew
all about it) when several neighbors call
ed A very pleasant evening passed loo
quick I y enlivened with recitations, music
singing and games; then the girls thot'
thev were hungry and brought in re
freshments of oranges, iip;-iles, pox:orn
halls, cookies, cake, Mid sugared popcorn.
We all enjoyej thiuii very much. The

past week, Ptrla. Birdie and Panzy were
sick, but are nearly well again excepting
their throats,
Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Rice and children
were very pleasant visitors at Poet Hill
Sunday evening.
Frank Russell was an Andrews visitor
Thursday.
Kohert Lewis was in these parts pail
of last week.
Emery Oil more was looking for stray
cattle iu these pi'ts Saturday,
Mr. Mcintosh took his mules and gave
u due buggy ride to a wagon load, con
sisting of Mrs. Mcintosh Mr. Harris, Lily,
Lizzie, Pep.rlaand your humble servant.
