White Elec IricComh Co., Decatur, III. This matter of wnding out of town to distant cities for commodities that can he pur chased at home is poor policy TJu4 np-huilding of any town is reHuitant upon the ability of the husiness men to attract trade to the town, and the volume of ..business trans acted. It is with satisfaction that the Trade Exhibit notes the organization of Commer cial Clubs and buisness mens exchanges in different cities of the west. The sphere of work of these associations is broad. Much can be accomplished for any town by hannnious and un ited effort of citizens. One of the first matters that any association whose aims are for the upbuilding of the town ia po protect home trade. A vigorous campaign should be made to prevent people of the town and those within it trade limits, sending to cata logue houses and department stores for supplies. The average fanner eeema to not recognize the fact that the up-building of his home town mean an increased valuation of bis farm property. lli eyes should be open to this fact, and in this alone should he sufficient incentiva to give his trade to home mer chants.
