to pay the dollar, but remonstrated
against a Jail sentence as seitlng an
extremely bad precedent.' The fact
that the victim drove a delivery wagon
had been taken into account, however,
and the Judge felt that he could not
further diminish the sentence. It is
apparent that if chauffeurs learn that
for every death caused by them they
must go to Jail for a year, much of
the sport of the automobile will be lost.
