Francis Duel, is working for his father this Winter. Jle has has engaged with him until April. John Duel, is working on his house. His brother Jim is helping him, and they will soon have a very good homo, where ashort time ago it was barren. Mr. Church Sr, is putting in his spare time worsiing on his new log bouse on his homestead, near the old home. He will have a good roomy house when completed. Leslie Crane, over in Nebraska, ii building a dam across the dry gulch that runs tln'ough bis homestead. His is the only sod house in this part and we fear that when the spring rains coma it will dissolve and run down the draw in the form of silt; but then tha dam will stop it, and he can fish it out again. Andrew Christian, showed us a cow rolie that is a little the nicest role in the settlement. It was tanned by Mr. Olbri cht, of Glen, and is a jet black with a narrow whilfl border. Mrs. Kva Christian, was not feeling so well tho fore part of the week. She is able to walk a few steps after bein heled udon her feet. We hope to see her entirely well soon. The teacher's desk for the new school house arrived last week, and was pla.'ed iu the school house last Monday, This completes th furnishing of the district. Each school house has been supplied with a bet of Caxtons school churls and are as well equipped as most country school houses in older hottled districts. There is a great deal of complaint be ing mado, by the residents of the Ridge about the road from hers to Harrison, they are now fenced up so that the trav el lias to go considerable out of a direct line and makes the distance so much farther that nonie talk of quitting the town altogether and giving their trade to Lusk. Your correspondent has to pass through nine gates ou the way to town.
