District Court for Sioux county con
vened at the court hnuso Monday after
noon with judge. Westover presiding and
G. Maher as court stenographer.
Following attorneys have legal cases
in court outside of Sioux county were:
M. F. ILirrineton of O'Neal Judge Crites
of Chadron Fanning and Porter of Craw
ford and Wilfoer V. Bennet of Omaha.
A. decree of Divorce was granted to
the nlaintiff in the of Mckean vs McKean
and the custody of the child given to the
mother.
Also decree of divorce was granted
in favor of plaintiff in the case of Kauff-
man vs Kulfman.
The case of State of Nebraska vs Trv-
inz Gillmore is now being tried. There
are about 30 w 'messes in attendance in-
clu.limr both the plaintiff and the defend
ants witnesses. Both sides are fighting
for every Inch of vantage ground in or
der to sustain their respective side of the
case. At this Wednesday evening, it w
impoiiible to say ?ut how the ease will
terminate.
LATER 7:00 o'clock all the evidence
in the case was in at the above hour and
court adjourned till 8 o'clock thin morn
ing when the attornies will make their
nice to the jury; the attornies for the
defence and the plaintiffs each being
allowed two hours to lay their case Be
fore tbe jury.

MARRIED: At Douclas Wyo., Mon
day Sept, 12, 1898 Miss M. E. Turner of
Boston Mass., to Charles M. Thomas of
Warbonnet precinct of this county aged
respectively 13 and 23 years. Mrs.
Thomas is a daughter of Mr. George
Turner's nephew, who is a resident of
Boston Mass. Though we have never
had the pleasure of her acquaintance
we understand she is a lady of education
and rednment and will make a compan

We have had but a limited acquain

way to his credit and it is our opinion

to the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
