ure. Sheriff Holly and family went to An
drews for an outing last Saturday, and

Frank Tinkham of Douglas, Wyo. ,
came down Tuesday evening on business
and stopped over until today. He re
ports business in his line (livery and feed
stable) to be improving.
Frank Stratton. who has been at
work at Hill city, 8. Dakota, for the
past few years, and who is a brother of
our own John L. came down on a visit
for a week or so last Saturday.
The Rev. W. B. Costley, of Stockbridge
Ga., while attending to his pastoral dut
ies at Ellen wood that state was attacked
by cholera morbus. He' says: "By
chanco I happened to get hold of a bot-

Mrs. George Olinger of Lockwood,
Mo., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W
Heetar, came in on the last Monday
noon s train for a month or six weeks
visit to her parents. As Mrs. Olinger
has been an old resident of Sioux county
she win doubtless have a good visit
with olJ friends and neighbors before her
return home.

fall with him last Wednesday, his foot
was so badly hurt be was laid up for a
few days but is around at this writting.
There is a game of ball arranged to be
played between the Montrose boys and
the Ardmore bridge gang, to be played
at Ardmore, 8. D., next Saturday.

World Herald Day.
The Exposition Management Names

Day. '
In honor cf the thirteenth anniver
sary of the establishment of the
Omaha evening World which later con
solidated with tho Omaha Morning
Herald, the exposition management hag
designated August 24 as World Herald
day.
On that day the railroads will sell
tickets from all parts of Nebraska at
one fare for the round trip and from
some sections for even less. The ex
position will make a special half rate
admission in the evening and a grand
display of fireworks will take place
upon the exposition grounds at 9 p. m.
At noon upon World-Herald day tlie
editors of Nebraska papers will take
lunch with the World-Herald upon the
exposition grounds and in the afternoon
and evening as guests of the World
Herald will visit the Midway and take
in as many of its thirty-four attractions
as time will permit At 4 p. m,, the
United States life saving services will
give an exhibition of saving shipwrecked
and drowning people upon the lagoon
near the government building. The
great Mexican band from the City of
Mexico will play both afternoon and
evening upon the exposition grounds in
open air concert
The Indian village, Chinese village,
Streets of all Nations, Streets of Carlo,
Ostrich farm, Old plantation, Uaxen
back wild animal show, German village,
Wild west and all other attractions will
give their best shows, and such places
as the giant see-saw, shoot the chute
and others will be in full blast On ac
count of the low railroad rates and extra
attractions as well as in honor of the
World-Herald a great attendance is ex
